Pretty Curly Girl review
Pretty Curly Girl, a brand that every curly knows by now! You see it everywhere! Not so strange, the products are a great success for actually all different hair types! Also for me, that's why I thought it would be a nice idea to tell a bit more about Pretty Curly Girl and at the same time give a review about the products!
Who is behind Pretty Curly Girl?
This is Hanan! Hanan was born and raised in the Netherlands with Moroccan roots! She studied law and eventually became a lawyer. In 2012 she started setting up Pretty Skin Cosmetics. In 2018, after the birth of her beautiful daughter, the development of Pretty Curly Girl started!
Her goals were:
- To create labels that are so clear that it is immediately visible whether the product is CG and whether it contains protein.
- To develop products with a high concentration of active ingredients (and absolutely no watery products).
- Creating a flaxseed gel that can be stored in the bathroom for at least 12 months and a lubricant-inspired serum so that curly people won't be ashamed to buy it.
In November 2019 the first products were launched! High quality ingredients, made in the Netherlands, CG-approved, vegan, cruelty free and so much more. After the launch it was quickly noticed and talked about by so many curly girls and in a short time it has become a favorite brand in the curly community and it is the fastest growing curly brand available in over 25 countries in just over a year!
Besides being very ambitious and working very hard, Hanan is also a beautiful person inside and out!

Review of the Pretty Curly Girl Products
Below I will post a review of the above products! If more products are added to our range in the future, the reviews of those products will be added to this blog!
PRETTY CURLY GIRL MAGICAL FLAXSEED GEL:
I personally think this flaxseed gel is fantastic! It gives a mega good cast, my hair doesn't fall out quickly, it is easy to apply to your hair, makes your hair shine and the kind of tropical scent is really delicious!
The gel is protein-free, aloe vera-free, coconut-free and contains vitamin E and almond oil to nourish the hair.
You use this gel on wet hair after you have used leave-in. If necessary, you can use a brush to style your hair. Then you squeeze your curls in it and you can dry your hair with the diffuser or let it air dry.
When your hair is completely dry your curls will be hard. That is the cast you get from the gel. You could use the bye bye frizz serum to squeeze out your cast leaving you with soft, shiny and defined curls!
PRETTY CURLY GIRL EXTRA LOVING LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER:
This is a lightweight leave-in conditioner that can be used for all hair types! This leave-in also has the tropical scent that the gel also has! It is protein-free, aloe vera-free, coconut-free, glycerin-free and contains shea butter, linseed oil and almond oil to give your hair some extra love! You really don't need much to detangle and care for your hair!
You apply the leave-in to wet hair after showering. You can detangle your hair with this and you don't have to rinse it out! I noticed that the leave-in really takes care of it!
PRETTY CURLY GIRL BYE BYE FRIZZ SERUM:
The Pretty Curly Girl Bye Bye Frizz serum can be used in several ways and ensures less frizz and shiny curls!
It can be used to knead out the cast (mentioned earlier with the gel), as a refresh product or between the leave-in and gel. So you can use it in your own way on wet and dry hair how it works best for you! I personally find it very pleasant to knead out the cast or I use it for a refresh to tame the frizz a bit!
This serum is also without protein, without aloe vera, without coconut, without glycerine, without perfume and is water based! So it is not a heavy product!
PRETTY CURLY GIRL STYLING SERUM:
This product is also super nice! It is a styling serum that you can use instead of a gel. It nourishes your hair and provides beautiful defined curls without making it hard (cast). On days that I don't feel like doing my hair extensively, I actually use this product and let it air dry. It always feels super light, soft and nice afterwards!
This seems to be a very nice product for fine hair, but it also works great with thick hair, like mine! The scent is the same as the flaxseed gel and leave-in!
You can also use this as a refresh product and, just like the bye bye frizz serum, it can be used on dry and wet hair! It is protein-free, aloe vera-free and coconut-free.
