Protection in winter
As the summer sun disappears and autumn and winter begin in our cold little country, we are getting more and more questions: Help, my hair is getting more frizzy! My products don't seem to be doing their job anymore! How can I protect my hair from the cold? To answer all your questions, we have decided to venture a blog with a number of practical tips to get through the winter with a beautiful head of curls.
GLYCERINE
Glycerine is a humectant. It is originally a substance found in the body, but can be found regularly in skin and hair products. Glycerine is known for its moisturizing properties. This means that it attracts and retains moisture in your hair. For this reason, many people find glycerine very pleasant in the summer: when the hair is already somewhat drier, glycerine ensures that your hair gets more moisture. But, in the winter, when it is more humid outside, glycerine ensures that your hair becomes frizzy. All those hairs “stand out” to catch the moisture that is in the air. Result? Coupe guinea pig. Do you notice that your hair is dry in the winter, but you do not want to use glycerine? Then look for a moisturizing deepco. For example;

PROTECTING YOUR HAIR
In the winter we often like to wear a scarf or hat to protect ourselves from the cold. Many people notice more tangles at the bottom of their hair. This can be caused by the friction with your scarf and/or hat. You can therefore choose to purchase a hat with a satin interior. This way your hair is protected from the cold, but you have less friction and therefore fewer tangles.
SEALING
What can help to maintain your beautiful curly hairstyle is to seal your hair with a sealing oil. This is an oil that seals your hair in a healthy way, so that it is protected against the cold. An example of this is the Curly Secret Scrunching oil
A good way to seal your hair is the LOC/LCO method. With this method you apply leave in, oil and cream to protect your hair.
Please note : this CAN (but doesn't have to) be quite heavy for curl type 2. You can also choose to add a gel instead of a cream.
PRE POO
Oil can be used in different ways. One of these ways is a pre poo. Don't worry, this is not dirty, but a very pleasant way of caring for your scalp with oil! When it gets colder outside, it is possible that your scalp will also become drier.
How does a pre poo work?
Before you start your washing routine, apply an oil of your choice to your scalp. Massage it in well. You can choose to put on a heat cap afterwards for a deeper penetration of the oil, but a pre-poo also works very well without a heat cap. Experiment with the duration of the oil. This is different for everyone. When the oil has been absorbed well, massage your hair with shampoo. With a lighter oil you can easily rinse it out in the shower with shampoo, but if you have a thicker oil, do not wet your hair first; this will prevent you from getting the oil out properly. Result: greasy hair and a slippery shower.
Once you have massaged your shampoo in, you can rinse it out with water. Then do your washing routine as you normally would.
