Protein & moisture overload

A moisture overload or a protein overload?
What is it, how do you recognize it and what do you do about it? In this blog we will take you through these questions step by step.

MOISTURE OVERLOAD

WHAT IS IT?

A moisture overload means that you have too much moisture in your hair.
There are a number of things you can recognize as moisture overload:

– Your hair is frizzy more than before

– Your hair is highly elastic. This means: it stretches very far before it breaks

– Curls fall out quickly; your hair looks lifeless

– Your curls feel very limp, they seem to have lost their “strength”

THE SOLUTION

The most important thing for you to know is of course: THE SOLUTION. Well, actually quite simple: protein and a good dose of patience.

For example, wait a little longer before washing your hair because that also loses moisture!

You can add protein to your routine. For example, a nice mask! Take a look at Curly Secret Protein Mask.

PROTEIN OVERLOAD

What is it?

A protein overload is actually the opposite of a moisture overload, namely an excess of protein.
You can recognize a protein overload by the following points:

– Your hair breaks very quickly / Low elasticity

– You have more tangles than normal

– Your hair feels like straw (very stiff)

– Your hair ends are dry and/or split (remember when you last went to the hairdresser).
Sometimes split ends are also a sign that you should visit the hairdresser again)

THE SOLUTION

In case of protein overload, it is important to use products without protein that are actually very moisturizing.
A good example is the deepco by Umberto Giannini. In addition, a sealing oil can ensure that your hair retains moisture better. For this, the oil by Curly Secret very pleasant.
